When You Arrive
On the first day of term, you will be given details about your course and timetable, where to find ACL’s friendly teachers and helpful staff, plus information about Sydney, your new city! Your first day* starts at:

Arrive at ACL
Meet friendly staff and receive Welcome
Pack. You will be shown to the library where you fill in your registration
form and student card. The Welcome Pack also includes an information booklet
and a map of Sydney. Don’t forget your passport and two photos.
09.00 Welcome by Director of Studies
The Director of Studies will welcome you
and hand out the schedule for your first day. You will be introduced to
your teachers and put into groups for the day.
09.15 Orientation
Session
A short presentation about studying at
ACL – where to find teachers, information about your course, and
details of who can help you if you have any questions or need any support.
09.30 Test and Interview
We need to assess your English skills so
we can put you into the right class. Your listening, speaking, reading
and writing will be tested today. If you have an IELTS score, you should
bring it with you.
10.30 Morning Tea
This is a great chance to relax, have a
cup of coffee and get to know new friends!
11.00 Testing Continues

ACL and Surrounding Area Tour
Your first opportunity to explore the college
and find: your classroom, the library and computer centre, the lunchroom
and the teachers' room. You will then be shown the surrounding area, the
nearest cafes, banks, bus stops, train stations and ferry terminals.
13.30 Class Allocation
You have reached the end of your first
day! You will be told where to find your name on the list for your first
day in class tomorrow.
