About the IELTS Test

IELTS, the International English Language Testing System, is designed to assess the language ability of candidates who need to study or work where English is the language of communication. IELTS conforms to the highest standards of language assessment. It covers the four language skills.

Approximate Test Time

1. Listening 30 minutes

2.

Reading

60 minutes – Academic/General Training

3.

Writing

60 minutes – Academic/General Training

4.

Speaking

11 – 14 minutes


Academic and General Training

IELTS is available in two formats - Academic and General Training.

The Academic Module is suitable for candidates applying for undergraduate or postgraduate study.

The General Training Module is suitable for candidates applying for secondary education, work experience or training programs, or for immigration purposes.
