What's On
The October programme
is full of fun and informative activities, excursions, day trips and
workshops. Weekend day trips include Hunter Valley wine tours, trips to
the Blue Mountains and an all day excursion to Canberra to visit Parliament
House and the various museums, galleries and sights of Australia’s
capital city. Full weekend trips include a getaway to the beautiful Hawks
Nest region, where students can stay in hotel style accommodation and
enjoy two days of bushwalking, swimming, kayaking and other outdoor activities.
April will also hold a special Scuba Diving weekend, on which students
will learn the art of scuba diving whilst staying in beautiful beachside
accommodation with fellow students.
Other special events on the agenda are: a walk up to the top of the Sydney
Harbour Bridge Pylon, an excursion to the Sydney Maritime Museum, the
famous Royal Botanic Gardens and a welcome lunch for new students at Pancakes
at the Rocks. Our regular monthly trips to Sydney Aquarium, the Australian
Museum and Sydney Opera House continue as usual.
For students who want to keep fit in Sydney the ACLClub Officer provides
information on gym memberships, sports centres providing basketball and
tennis courts, swimming facilities and dance classes.
For students looking for work in Sydney, the ACLClub officer will supply
you with information on how to write a resume, where to look for work
in Sydney and the best techniques for finding the right job for you. Check
the programmes for free information sessions including seminars at Traveller’s
Contact Point on George St, where students can learn about how and where
to find work in Sydney and do the necessary courses required to work in
bars and hotels.
